  Depend on God

                   Saint Matthew 6: 25-34

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or [drink], or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds in the sky; they do not sow or reap, they gather nothing into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not more important than they? Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your life-span? Why are you anxious about clothes? Learn from the way the wildflowers grow. They do not work or spin. But I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was clothed like one of them. If  God so clothes the grass of the field, which grows today and is thrown into the oven tomorrow, will he not much more provide for you, O you of little faith? So do not worry and say "What are we to eat?" or "What are we to drink?"
or "What are we to wear?" All these thing the pagans seek. Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the Kingdom [of God] and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides. Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself . Sufficient for a day is its own evil.

Jesus spoke these words 2000 years ago, we have the same problems and anxieties today. I am 57 years old I still am learning how to Depend on God. It requires Faith, strong Faith. If you do not have this Faith; pray and ask God to depend on him. This will be the start of a beautiful relationship with your Heavenly Father.
We cannot eliminate worry from our lives there are times when we need to be concerned; sin, health and safety and much more. We will always have concerns, for ourselves and our loved ones especially if you are a parent. How often do we spend useless time worrying and inventing situations
and problems that do not even occur or worrying over material possessions that will not benefit us a year from now or material possessions that are costly and just create more issues; you know the saying the more you own the more problems you have.

     ***********************************************                             Bible Journal

This is a Bible my parents gave me 30 years ago.

It is quite large with heavy paper.
To be on the safe side I used drawing paper
I  cut to size; to fit the blank page
and then just used two sided tape to adhere to the  page. What I like about this Bible there are blank pages to draw on. I know what your thinking . Draw in your Bible! If your nervous about drawing in your Bible you can always use a plain inexpensive Journal.

Dick Blick has numerous Journals, so many to choose from this is a great pick. With choices in sizes and types of paper, I like the ones with mixed media or the ones with watercolor paper, which is more durable. They have the largest variety of colored pencil sets available or can can buy individual colors.

More Supplies

For this illustration, I used prismacolor pencils. I used the Sargent Glitter Pens; I purchased this small set at Hobby Lobby.

I like using Derwent coloursoft pencils which blend nicely.

But remember it is not about the art or calligraphy, its about the Bible!
